Have you recently been diagnosed with diabetes? Has your child been diagnosed and you are feeling worried and overwhelmed?  Are you caring for a loved one with diabetes? Perhaps you are adjusting to changes in your life that are impacting your health? Are you pregnant? Is it difficult to stick to what your doctors want you to do?  Do you feel like the people in your life do not understand what you are experiencing? Do you feel ashamed of having diabetes? Are you just feeling fed up with diabetes and its impact on your life?

I have lived with type 1 diabetes for over 30 years. My own experiences have made me keenly aware of the ways in which diabetes can impact our lives and our emotional well-being. Sometimes diabetes is the issue. Sometimes it is the other challenges we face in life which make it hard to manage diabetes. Whatever your situation, it can be important for your mental health and overall well-being to have the support of a therapist who understands the challenges that are unique to life with diabetes.
